While working on my 98 318 Dakota today, I noticed that off of each valve
cover there is a long rubber hose tha goes to either the intake manifold or
the air intake hat. Can I remove either of these without having any
engine/computer problems. The hose from the drivers side cover goes to the
air intake hat. Can I remove that hose completely, cap off the hole on the
air hat, and put a small breather in the hole on the valve cover? I know that
a vehicle likes cold air and I think that maybe by removing this hose, I can
slow the ingestion of hot air into the throttle body. Any Ideas would be of
great help.
