My paintjob ended up costing me about $1200 as I traded favors with a friend
who paints Semi trucks for a living, I asked and he is not interested in
doing any more paint jobs. There are however, several reputable shops in the
Detroit area. Heritige collision is one of the best, if you have no limit on
how much you want to spend ($4000 to $6000), many dealership bodyshops do
excellent work too (about $2500), and if you do all the prepwork yourself,
like taking off all trim that does not get painted, Macco can do a fairly
good job and only charge about $800 to $1200. Prepwork is the key to getting
a good paintjob, having a friend do it is a better way.
