I just took the bug deflector off my '99 and things don't seem quite
right. I'm screwing the grille back down and when it seems like I can't
go any farther, there's still a 1/4 inch gap between the grille and the
hood. My father's Durango doesn't have this large gap. I'm seeing
small dimples on the face of the grille where the screws are - I take it
I've torqued down too much at this point. I've backed things out some
to take that pressure off.
Is it possible I'm just crossthreading the thing, or did 2 years with
the bug deflector bend the grill away from where it should be? I don't
have my manual handy this weekend.
