I did a little dance with one of these Monday night. We were at a light and
he nailed it. I did not let him have all the fun, so I joined him. He beat
me across the intersection, but then I pulled away. Oh yeah, I forgot to
mention I started in 2nd gear with the air on! ;^P

They are good engines and will out-live the body. I almost got one back in
'92, but I'm glad I didn't! They just don't have the room to haul thing like
the Dak!

The 4.0L is an inline 6. That's why it has so much snot off the line
compared to the Dakota V6. Inlines are super smooth and have excellent low
end torque. Not much for revving very high and creating lots of horsepower
in the upper rev range.
