I don't doubt that Marks data is accurate...for his truck, and other who
have run their tests as well. But look at the overall picture. Most
who have installed them have all stated that they run smoother, idle
better, and seem to run stronger. I don't have my old dyno sheets
anymore but yes, I did test the MSD on my V6 as well and found that it
helped (not degraded) performance.

Bernd, don't want to start a flame war, but since you are the most
experienced Dakota guy, I think you would defer to Mark's data on the
MSD. Unless you have numbers to back up your claims. It would be nice if
we could get hard data from either MSD or any of the other folks out
there using any aftermarket ignition. If I had access to a dyno I would
do it, as I have questions myself. I have been running a 6A for the past
3 years, and recently removed it to see if I can tell a difference with
all of the mods I have done lately.
