That is TOTAL BS!!!
You do not have to take your veichle to a dealer for oil changes. At best you
may have to show proof of oil changes that are as scheduled in the owners
manual. My 99 R/T has NEVER had an oil change done by ANYONE but myself and the
dealer has NEVER asked about oil changes when any work was required! I suspect
that if an engine failure happens you might have to show proof of regular
maintenance but it does not have to be done by the dealer and the dealer is not
likely to pay for any oil changes either. However, any good mechanic can tell
if the maintenance has been neglected enough by the way the engine looks
inside. Total BS!!!
