Yes its comman with the 4.7L. Its the cold air of winter blowing around the
tall black oil filler thing that the cap is on. The water vapor in the
engine condasites on the cold black plactic of the oil filler thing. This
water vapor will collect there when the engine is run on short trips in
cooler and colder weather. Did your long drive help to remove any of it? The
dealer knows about a tbs with a fix for it. TBS Number 09-01-00 Group:
engine Date Feb 18,2000 just talks about. I've seen a newer one with a fix,
something about putting a plastic guard thing in the oil filler thing to cut
down on the "Normal accumulation of a foamy oil emulsion in the 4.7 engine
oil fill housing" as Ma Mopar puts it.
