When I was tonneau shopping, I was told that the hinged soft covers were quite
prone to bending. DML experience, from what I know, says otherwise, but I
wasn't about to take the risk at the time.

Yes, in 1999 there was the 8' bed on RC models. CCs only come with 6.5' beds,
but they won't get that detailed with their application guides - they only
measure the bed, not the whole thing. 6.5' is considered the "shortbed." '99
was the last year of the longbed.
