Hi Eric
There is nothing in the factory shop manual to indicate anything special
in removal of rear leaf springs on 2 or 4wh dr models 97 to date.
About all it says is to jack up the truck from the frame and install
frame jack stands. The with the jack under the axle housing, jack the rear
end just enough to take the pressure off the springs. Then remove the wheels
and the various fasteners starting with the axle U-bolts and their plate, the
front spring eye, and the rear shackles last. They make it sound very easy
