If you have the 8.25 rear end then your spider gear is probably shot, If
the
truck is extended cab/quad cab or long bed (ie. 2 piece diveshaft),
then you
should also check the driveshaft carrier bearing. You can check this by
putting it on a lift and then put it in gear to isolate where the noise
is
coming from. Other likely suspects would be rear wheel/rear end
bearings.
