An R/T is a Gen III. Gen IIIs are dropped in the front via spring changes,
and/or lower a-arms. Spindle changes are for Gen I or II.
The rear can be dropped using blocks, different springs, or reloacting the
hangars and reusing the existing springs.
My 00 RC R/T has a 3/4 drop. The kit that was used on it was by Western
Chassis. Front is dropped with a spring change(1"), and a lower control arm
change (2"). The rear was done with relocated front and rear hangars.
My 99 RC R/T has a 1/2 drop. This was done with Hotchkis springs in front
and a 2" block in the rear.
If you are looking for a drop and handling upgrade, try the Hotchkis TVS
kit. This will include front coils, rear leafs, upgraded sways. Top it off
with a set of Hotchkis Tuned Bilstein shocks, and you will have looks and
the handling of a sports car!! Pricey, but worth it.
Be aware that the R/T already has a 1" drop from the factory (different
springs all around). So when a Dak kit claims a particular drop, you will
usually get 1" less than claimed.
