No doubt you are correct. :-) I was mainly just "thinking" aloud.
Mainly fueled by my paranoia about breaking off and/or rounding bolts
in things. :-) I remember when I removed the block plugs on my '96
it was a major pain in the butt - they were pretty stuck. I don't
like things like that; whenever possible I will avoid having to loosen
"stuck stuff" so that it doesn't create yet another problem that needs
to be resolved before the orignal repair can commence. :-) I have
definitely reached my lifetime "patience quota" for drilling out,
extracting, cutting, grinding, burning, etc. broken off bolts,
taps and extractors. :-)
: On my '92 Dak the drain plugs are relatively easy to
: reach, and on the passenger side there was room to install a petcock. That
: makes draining the next time a piece of cake. Unfortunately, I couldn't use
: a petcock on the driver's side as there was not enough clearance to turn the
: lever on the petcock. To me, one's better than none. :-)
That's a good idea; I will have to try and remember that for the
next vehicle which needs its block plugs removed. I assume it was
just an NPT fitting?
