If you have a bunch of accessories to hook up, you could get a
terminal block or an auxiliary fuse block, and hook that to the
battery.

You may not get around splicing. I don't know exactly what goes
into the brake harness. If the controller itself just needs 12V
and a signal from the brake lamp circuit on the truck, you might be
able to find one of those "insertion harnesses" where you unplug
the brake lamp circuit and insert the connectors from the
controller harness. They might only have those for brae lamp and
turn signal purposes (i got mine at pep boys).
