Funny timing Matt, my 89 just did this to me too. Not the first time
its happened though. I'm gonna drive it around like this till
registration is up and I have to get it sniff tested again.
I also drove it around for a while with no muffler (no pipes at all
behind the cat). The exhaust there is a little hotter and it burned a
hole in my floor boards.
