Yeah, it's not so loud as far as raspy-annoying. It's really low
sounding like someone is sitting under the truck hitting a bass drum,
very resonant.

I've had louder than this... but I hate drawing cops attention. I've
only ever been pulled over once for loud exhaust (1985 Turbo Laser with
3" exhaust with a race bullet muffler, no cat) and the cop still let me
go, but I don't like to tempt fate.

The funny thing is the rest of the exhaust is perfect, and the weld that
rusted out is a big goober weld. I think some redneck decided they
wanted dual tip exhaust, hacked it off some other Dakota and welded it
on. Around here exhausts don't rust out much unless you own a Chevy. ;)

Mines been like that for years now with no ill effects. Axle tube had
some
carbon on it but I haven't noticed any negative effects. It does get a
little ridiculous sometimes if you need to take a phone call or go
through a
drive up anything.

Well, my '95 Dakota tonight got tired of waiting for me to put 3"
exhaust on
it, and sheared off the tailpipe at the exit of the muffler. I was

Can anyone think of anything bad that will happen with the muffler
pointing
at the passenger side rear axle tube for a while? I'm in the middle of a
divorce and looking at moving costs, I can't afford to drop $370 on an
(amazingly overpriced) Gibson exhaust for the thing, and I don't think
there's enough pipe left on the muffler (rust) to weld up another
tailpipe.
