Michael,
I *would not* recommend holding the "flash to pass" mode in the "on"
position. I design multifunction switches (turn signal/wiper) and
various others for a living (airbag defeat in '97 C/K is mine). Many
multifunction switches with a beam change/flash-to-pass function
cannot handle the full current draw to operate both beam circuits for
an extended (anything more than normal f-t-p use) time. GM's P90
platform had a problem with this not to far back (it was before
production release....can't remember who does that switch).
If you want to run both circuit simultaneously I would recommend
setting up a separate switch/relay combination to operate one of the
circuits.
To add to the foglamp discussion.....I'm considering a compact PIAA
style lamp mounted in the front bumper opening and opening the factory
foglamp blanks for a RAM-AIR setup. Any other '97 owners see these as
being good cool air pickup points?

<snip> I can hold my switch back and keep both the low and high beams on (lots
of light), but when I release it the lows go off and just the highs burn. <snip>
