Mine appeared to be getting louder so I took it to the dealer. He check
a couple of the other Daks on the lot and it was a common problem
although he said mine was much louder than the others. So...They are
ordering a new one and it will be in next week. Service manager also
said that if it is that common and enough people complain, they may be
issueing a service bulletin. In any case if this only reduces the
volume, I will pursue the rubber isolation tactic. I too think it was
pretty stupid to mount it to the firewall. Your just asking for sound
to transmit to the cab. Heck, all cruise controls probably do this but
because of where they are located no one notices. I'll keep everyone
posted.
