Jack, I don't understand why you think the tire and handling package made
you feel "every single bump." The only thing the tire and handling package
gives you is wider wheels, bigger tires, and a rear sway bar. Are you
saying that the tires caused the bumpy ride? I drove a V6 CC w/out tire
and handling package before I ordered my truck. I got the tire and
handling package on my truck and I think it rides just as good or better
than the CC I drove without the T & H package. I'm a little confused.
Please clarify.

Last time I checked Dodge only had '97 info on their web site. If you take the KBB
site to be gospel, there isn't any "tire & handling package" for '98. You get the
31" tires as part of the Sport+ package, or you can order them separately as a
on line option. I'm seeing lots of differences in how things are grouped/packaged
for '98. Related to the lousy ride there are a few GVW packages and my thoughts are
to by the lowest rate springs and supplement (if necessary) with something like
airlift air bags. That way you don`t get a "buckboard" ride unloaded and you inflate
the bags (or air shocks, etc) to supplement only when needed. I personally don't ever
see exceeding the standard spring payload...I may tow things (but tongue weight won't
be that high) but doubt I'll ever put in over 1/2 ton at one time.
