I just had some brake work done on my 97 DAK CC SLT+ 318 V8 3.92
After 4 attempts at the dealer. They tried to tell me that I voided the
warranty on the brake system. WRONG. After several calls it came down to
this. They told me that If you put aftermarket parts on the truck and it
causes a system to fail they wouln't cover it, but if the part didn't
cause failure then warranty isn't affected. I don't believe all I hear
from them, I think it depends on the modification. All I had done was
turn the rear drums. The more I research info into my DAK the more I
find the dealer screwed me. They upgraded my tires and rims but only
swapped the rims. I still had the Goodyear Evictas when I was supossed
to have RWL of some sort.
My dream mod is going to put fender flares and the 31 X 10.5. I
like driving with a lot of meat on the road.
I wouldn't trade my DAK for anything, but you need to be on top
of things when dealing with dealers who honor our warranty's. Sometimes
they don't seem to be on our side.
