I am new to the list, and have a 98 3.9 extracab 4x4. I've done no
performance mods, but the check engine light came on last week. Dutifully, I
pulled over and checked the engine. Runs fine.
Step 2-Called my dealer. I could make an appointment for late August. They
suggested I ensure my gas cap was tight! After this great advice, I knew I
should consult the group here at DML.
Any thoughts, folks? Runs like a top, decent mpg (no change after light came
on), no rich-smelling exhaust, etc. Underhood check of wires, hoses, etc. ok.
Done all the old-fashioned checks - but underhood -computer stuff is way
beyond my pay grade!
