The secondary latch *should* have held. There is a recall for certain
year Rams for defective secondary latches that can cause the hood to fly
open when the hood latch does not secure it. You may want to investigate
to see if there may be something similar for the Daks. Of course, yours
is a little old (by CC standards), so you may still be on your own.
