Robert,
Don't be so hard on yourself; a 15.33 is an excellent time for a
basically stock Dak. :-) The ram-air probably gave you .2 to .3, which
would put you at about 15.5 to 15.6, stock. Its anybody's guess as
to what the MSD might have done for (or against) ya. :-)
Just FYI, the R/T doesn't have any effect on the E/T. The E/T
timer starts when you come out of the staging beams, so it doesn't
matter wether you redlight or sit there for 5 seconds; your E/T
will be unaffected. This does sort've work for the 60' times though.
For example, if you were to run a 2.5 60' time and go 15.33, if you
could cut your 60' time down to 2.2 (through a better launch, or sticky
tires, etc.) your E/T would drop to 15.03, everything else being equal.
So, though I hate to be the bearer of bad news, you've still got some
work to do in order to see mid 14's. If you've still got the stock
exhaust, a cat-back, a good launch, and a little luck might have you
seeing 14's, which is darn fast for a truck. :-)
Anyway, it sounds like you did very well; that's really a very
good time. I was turning 16.3's my first time out. :-)
