As you can see from the above, I plan to write more of these.

Anyways,

I got the TB on Friday night. DAMN!!! this thing is pretty!! I got the
"topless" version. Will post pictures at a later date. It came with
"button head" bolts, which I used. Had to cut the TB gasket a little, not
much, though. Frank can explain what he did to the TB better than I can, so
I'll let him explain it.=)

Now for the good stuff. Flat spot off idle - GONE! Increase in midrange
power, and a BUNCH more above 3000 rpm. Seat of pants says 10 - 15 horses.
Making the tranny kick down to first at 30 causes rubber to be left, and
kicks ya in the butt!! =) Never could get it to do that before. More
stuff.... I screwed with the trans cable thingy(can't remember what its
really called) and am now getting 5000rpm upshifts in drive, which I could
never get it to do before, but I am sure it isn't caused by the TB, but it
sure is neat! The crappy side to this is that it shifts to 2nd gear way
too soon at part throttle. Free revving in neutral causes that nifty
popping sound in the exhaust.

Odd occurances....At around 2000rpm, the TB whistles, not unlike the FIPK
at startup. It sounds akin to a vaccuum leak. I am not sure why, either.
The TB is down tight, and I reproduced the sound in the driveway with the
FIPK off, so it's not like that wasn't tight either...Frank, any ideas??

My thoughts - more horses could probably be made by those who have less
restrictive exhausts. I still have the stock exhaust, except for my JBA's,
which are beat up. I'll talk about that in a different post....

Overall I'm very happy with the power increase! I won't metion fuel
mileage, cause my right foot has been stuck to the floor!

Just my initial impressions....

Brian
