This is what I posted earlier. We, myself and Jim Harmon, are planning this
thing out. Looks good so far. Here is what we have so far:

"I should get an answer from the Dodge Dealer (Glendora)
tomorrow or Friday. I was thinking of getting their North lot, having a DJ,
In-N-Out Burger trailer (for food/drink), the dealer maybe sponsoring the
trophies, a few manufacturers to pay $50 to $75 each to display. The
participants pay $5 to $10 per truck to enter. This should cover our costs.
Spectators should get in free. We want them to come to the event, but also
go
look at the new vehicles and maybe generate some sales for the sponsoring
dealership.
Classes - I liked your ideas. Here's then the tentative list:
        Best Graphics/Paint job
        Lowest & Highest
        Best 4 X 4
        Best Interior or Audio
        Best V6 overall
        Best V8 overall
        Best R/T overall
        Best of Show
Most Illegal - work with Glendora PD or San Dimas Sherriff's office

Who will officiate? Maybe sales manager or owner of Glendora Dodge, a
magazine
repr?, You or I? We can't put our trucks in because we are the designers of
the
show, but we can still display our trucks.

Sponsors - This is who I have in mind: Meguiars, American products, TransGo,
CalCustom, SUV Parts, K&N, Bedtime Customs, Ground Force, Xenon,
Mopar/Glendora
Dodge. Each can put up a small booth. Maybe even hold a raffle or put up
their
products as prizes for the classes instead of trophies."

Any more ideas? E-mail me so I can put you name on the list. I will post it
to the dml group meet soon.

Take care,

Hey Jim that sounds great! if I wasn't a thousand or so miles away I'd be
there for sure.

You already know of the webring it seems but have you subscribed to the
Dakota Mailing List? There are over 600 members from all over north america
and we are always arranging "meets" mainly to just meet the other members
and talk trucks and such. There has already been a California meet and I
belive the guys are working on a second already. Check out the Dakota
Mailing List at this address:
http://www.cs.fredonia.edu/~stei0302/WWW/DAKOTA/index.html

You also might want to post a message to the Durango Forum at this address:
http://doc.admazeusa.com
I know the Durango guys are always gathering for meets.

I'll CC this email to the DML for you. You should get some responses...
