Looking for a little input here. Right now I have the factory exhaust pipe
all the way to the single 2-chamber flowmaster I installed. I cut off the
cat and put a piece of pipe in it's place of the same diameter as the rest
of the exhaust. Once in the muffler it comes out as dual pipes, still 2 1/5
diameter. My question is that I think I'm going to need a better flowing
exhaust with the mods I plan to be adding. I have an idea of what I think
I'm gonna do but I'm no exhaust wizard so I was looking for someone who
knows this stuff. These are my current mods: (just the ones that affect the
engine anyway):
1. Electric fan
2. crank pulley
3. 14" open air cleaner
4. R&D Throttle Body
5. The exhaust sytem I mentioned above
6. I have a resistor in the IAT sensor.
7 brass cap and rotor
: First thing, is my exhaust big enough for just that? These I have ordered
allready/planned allready and will done within the next couple weeks:
1. New Camshaft
2. 1.6 Roller Rockers
3. Bored out intake manifold and heads
4. Headers
: After that about 6 months to a year away I plan to supercharge it. What
size exhaust am I gonna need to go to with all this and when? I was thinking
of waiting till everything is done and then running 3 inch exhaust all the
way from the headers and then split into two 2-chamber flows. Would that be
sufficient or am I talking tru-dual exhaust here. Any comments would be very
appreciated. Sorry about the long post, and anyone that would like to e-mail
me privately I would appreciate it.
