Torque specs for '95 Oxygen Sensor

I'm changing out my crappy Borg-Warner O2 sesnor for the Bosch type I had
originally. I noticed they have a torques spec of 20 ft-lb for this sensor.
Is this torque spec crucial? Don't want to spend the time and screw things
up.
