RE: Dakota ping/clatter problems

I'm curious - are the "ping & clatter" that are being heard both
coming from the same problem? The term "clatter" is much more
reminiscent of the dak's legendary failed cat than pinging. Especially
since it was described as being embarassing to drive - that describes
mine to a tee. I have a failed cat, and it sounds like there's about
a dozen tin cans rattling against each other - VERY loud. It does this
at any speed, but is extremely noticeable at idle. On the other hand,
my truck pings, but is not noticeable at idle. Just food for thought.
