Got My 4.56 Gears Installed

Let me start by saying that if you think 4.56 gears are too much for 33"
tires, I believe you should reconsider. It rocks!

I picked my truck up tonight from the shop that installed my gears. I had
never used them before but they seem to have done a good job. Roth
Automotive in New Britain, CT. It cost me $500 labor front and rear to
install the gears, which was $250-$400 less than any other quote I got. And
Roth came well recommended to me from two different sources.

I'm not getting any noise I can hear from the gears.
The throttle response is amazing. It's like you are always in the power
band. And it's not a sudden kick in the ass, like with the blower. You hit
the gas, and you are right there. Even getting on the highway and cruising
in overdrive, you just tap the gas and you've got power. I can't wait until
I can really get on the gas.

I'm breaking them in over the next couple of days and then going on the dyno
on Saturday for some non-blower numbers.

On a side note, when I went to pick up the truck, the owner told me there was
one problem. When they were taking the truck off the lift, one of his
employees managed to put a pretty good dent in one of my nerf bars. So, he
ordered me a brand new set! I'm picking them up tomorrow. Now that's
customer service. He didn't wait for me to notice and complain, he just took
care of it.

By the butt dyno, gears seem to be the best bang for the buck of any mod I've
done. And I've done a few.
