What did they do to the 4.7 to yield those numbers? Is it practical to
do similar mods on a stock 4.7 to yield similar results?
Along those lines, I was looking at the Intense Performance website and
reading about the cold air intakes. OK, I understand the concept that
cold air is denser, and you can mix in more gas, which I suppose would
yield more pressure on ignition (?) to generate more HP. If that is
correct, wouldn't that also decrease gas mileage? One of the links to a
home-built cold-air intake system claimed their gas mileage improved,
which I don't understand.
Looking at my Dakota though, I don't really see where the temperature
difference comes in either. The Intense Performance Z tube with 7" stage
III cold air has the intake opening only a little furhter in front of
where the stalk intake is currently located. Perhaps the z tube is a
little bigger, but it appears to be roughly the same size as the
existing intake. Is there something else going on in the canister, or is
the z tube just much better insulated?

The Jeep line has it already for GC model. However, the R/T will boost
another 5HP (270/350) for the tuned exhaust system.
