Absolutely. One of the things that bugs me about my Dad's
driving is that he will only use his turn signals if there is
another car around to see them. (He figures, what is the use
if there is nobody else around?) I keep telling him that the
turn signals aren't just for the vehicles he can see, they
are also for the ones which he might not have noticed. (Who
amoung us hasn't been surprised at *least* once in their
driving career by a vehicle that "came out of nowhere"?)

That is also the sort of logic that says, what is the use
of stopping at a red light if there are no cars coming the
other way? (Although fortunately he doesn't do that.) I
would actally accept that argument - from anyone who is
omnipotent. ;-) Unless you have 100% situational awareness
(an impossibility for a human being), use the friggin' turn
signals and stop at the red lights. :-)
