Pop your hood, and try to rotate the engine forwards via the serp belt.
Now, try it in the opposite direction.
Basically the compression bleeds off a LOT quicker when rotated backwards.
Just a little backyard trick I've been using when an appropriate socket and
breaker bar are not available.
