It "sounds" normal, but I will check for compression when cranking when
I have some time on Saturday evening.

Your list coincides with my list of things to check on. Another thing,
I've been having problems with my motor chewing through distributor
rotors (like 6 mos or less,) and I've already developed a large amount
of side to side play in a dealer reman distributor after a little over a
year. Thinking that while I have the thing laid up, I should replace
the dist drive bushing?
