Cruise control (among other things...)

Evening guys (and gals, let's not be biased)

I'm inquiring about dealer installed cruise control on my '97 Dak. When I bought mine, I didn't think much of cruise, since most of my previous vehicles never had it, and I never missed it. For example, my Jeep YJ never had cruise, and with the 4.2L six in it, you pretty much had to be right into the gas pedal to keep it at about 120 kph (70 Mph) going up and down hills here in Alberta. So I didn't think to get a Dak with it. However, the Dak eats the hills up here, and often I find myself dialing up 85 or 90 MPH without noticing. INSERT FOOTNOTE HERE::: Damn smooth ride at that speed though, so I bought a radar detector instead::: Anyhow, the sales guy was telling me that the dealer could install factory cruise for about $500 Cdn. This seems a bit high, but I'd prefer the factory cruise over some cheap looking aftermarket job. Does anybody know if this is true or not, and what their thoughts may be on the benefits of cruise. I don't do a lot of highway miles, but in the interest of some mileage and preventative speeding tickets, I'd like to explore the option.

Thanks,

Pat Buthmann
