lowering blocks

I'm getting ready to order some 2 inch lowering blocks for the rear of
my truck and I saw a pair in the Summit catalog that look nice price
wise. They come in 1, 2, or 3 inch drops and they are 2.25" wide. The
catalog says that the blocks should be at least as wide as the leaf
spring. I measured my spring and it is 2.5" wide. Will this make any
difference? The springs would only overhang the blocks by a hair on
each side.
