Acceleration and Axle Ratios

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the mailing list and have a few questions.

I am looking to buy a 2001 Quad Cab 4x4. I went to
test drive a few and all I could find were the 4.7V8
with an auto.

I was decently empressed with the acceleration but
wanted to find out what a 5.9 could do.

I found a 5.9 Quad Cab 4x2 on their lot and drove it.
It was very very fast.

My questions are as follows:
--How can you find out what the axle ratio is by
looking at the window sticker(no window sticker had it
posted, 3.92, 3.55, 3.21?

--What is the weight difference between a 4x4 and 4x2
quad cab?

--Why do you think the 5.9 auto 4x2 was that much
faster than a 4.7 auto 4x4?

--Do the gear ratios make a lot of difference as far
as acceleration goes?

--I have heard the 4.7 is supposed to out perform the
5.9--the numbers don't show that(hp, torque) and so
far neither does the driving. Was it the weight issue
or a gearing issue an engine issue that allowed that
4x2 to be so fast?

--What do you think the fastest combo for the 4x4 quad
cab is (rear end and engine---I am definately getting
and automatic)?

Thanks for all the help.
Bob H.
