Hey Mike,

Hope you don't mind if I jump in here.

I had a Rhino Liner put in my 98 Dak last December. The lining material
is great - definitely tough stuff. However, the final appearance
quality of application is very dependent on the shop doing the
application. The installers (painters) who sprayed my liner gave it a
"wet" look by laying down a smooth glossy base coat and then applying a
final spatter coat which looks like water beads - kind of cool, and a
bit different then other liners I've seen. The final spatter coat also
leaves the surface very non-skid. They were also able to keep the front
drain holes open.

My major mistake was having them spray over the rails. DON'T DO IT. When
they do an under rail application, the rails hide all of the masking
imperfections. The guys who masked my over rail application did a real
sh*&^%$y job, so now I get to look at a nice wavey line running down the
driver side rail, and blips here and there where the lining material
oozed under the masking. Also, before they apply the lining, they must
rough up the paint with a wire wheel or sander - much less of a chance
of messing up exterior paint if they limit their work to under the
rails.

Had I to do it over again (unfortunately this stuff is very permanent,
unless you want to repaint your vehicle), I would only have them do an
under rail application and then add aftermarket rail guards if it looked
as though the rails were seeing wear.
