Rear axle/Service Annoyance!

Hello everyone. I departed the list for awhile and almost
as soon as I did, my truck broke, so now I'm back with some
concerns and questions. Here's the story:

The truck started making a loud whirring sound (like when
you're driving on grooved pavement) all the time. Well,
after waiting a day to have it diagnosed, turned out "a
rear axle bearing spun in its housing." That's all the
info I could get out of the writer and I never got a chance
to talk to the mechanic. So anyway, after waiting a week
for an entire new rear axle, I dropped the truck off again.
After two days, it was finally done and I picked it up
yesterday. Well, first thing I notice is that the axle is
bare metal--no paint at all. The next is that they used
bright frigg'n orange sealant to put the pumpkin cap on and
it was done very sloppily. Here's my questions for the
DML:

1. Should I risk them getting overspray everywhere and
have them paint the axle?

2. Isn't there supposed to be a gasket for the pumpkin cap
and if so, why did they use sealant?

3. Do I go back to these guys to let them try to make it
better or go to another dealership in town and see if
they'll rectify it?

4. Did I get a lemon (I'm also on my third transmission)
and should I sell my truck before my regular warranty
expires (got the 60K extended, but not sure I want to start
paying deductibles if its going to do stuff like this to
me)?

Sorry for the long message. I appreciate any help/advice
you can offer.

Thanks a lot,

=====
