I have seen the roots type blower with a turbo feeding it many times. I
worked with a guy last year who had a 69 vette with a 454 fed by a 8-71
blower and turbo feeding the blower. He had no problem with the head
gaskets, but he couldn't find a hood that would fit.
If you really want to see force fed technology look at Detroit deisels made
in the 70's, They were all supercharged, and more than not, turboed. In fact
I ran an earth mover with a 12v-71(12 cylinders, 71 cubes per cylinder) twin
supercharged twin turbo engine. The only problem it had was sucking the air
filter into the intake :)
